Silver Fingerprint Charm - the perfect addition to your charm bracelet, necklace, keyring or bookmark.

Create a unique keepsake from a fingerprint & personalise your charm bracelet at the same time!  Similar in size to a 5p piece these fingerprint charms can be made using the fingerprints of anyone.  Whilst we realise that every child is different most fingerprints don't start to develop sufficiently until a child is over 12 months old. If you are looking for something with a unique for under 12 months we suggest looking at our Babyprint range which is suitable from birth upwards.

8 characters of your choice can be hand engraved on the charm & usually this will fit on the front if required.  If the print you send in is too large to allow the engraving to be done on the front we will engrave it on the back of the charm instead.  All engraving details are collected at checkout but if you have any queries do add them to the comments box at the checkout stage or drop us an email.

In order to make your fingerprint charm, first you must create the mould using the free fingerprint moulding kit sent first class once you order.  Each kit contains enough material to make 2 fingerprint  moulds - we then choose the best mould to make your fingerprint jewellery.  You return the moulds to us & your finished Silver Charm is despatched back to you via a secure service (exact method depends on the delivery address) 28 days after we receive the moulds.

COMMON QUESTIONS REGARDING FINGERPRINT JEWELLERY

Why should I not order fingerprint jewellery for a child under 1 year old?
As the detail has not fully developed & you will not see any lines in the print, just a small & uneven dimple in the silver.  Sending in poor moulds or moulds from children who are under 1 year old is an acceptance that you are happy to go ahead with us creating your jewellery.

What if I can't make good fingerprint moulds?
We send enough putty to create 2 moulds for each fingerprint & you should take care to read the instructions for getting a good print very carefully before you begin.  If you are unable to get even 1 print you can purchase more putty through the online shop - http://www.creativecasting.co.uk/silver-fingerprint-jewellery/FPUTTYONLY.html

What is the difference between fine silver & sterling silver?
Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver, the rest being other metals added for strength. Fine silver is 99.9% silver & so much softer & will show 'wear & tear' marks on the surface much quicker than sterling silver would. All our fine silver pieces are stamped '999' - the mark for 99.9% fine silver.  All our findings are sterling silver & are marked '925' by the manufacturer as confirmation of this.

What words can I have engraved?
All pieces can be personalised with the addition of words of your choice. Letters are hand-engraved the number of characters that can be added depends on the size of the item as well as the size of the prints - details are included on each product description & all engraving information is collected during checkout.  There is not always room for writing on the front of a charm & if we feel we cannot fit the characters you have asked for on the front of a piece they will be hand engraved on the back.

My jewellery is marking as I use it!
Your jewellery is not mass produced & has a bespoke finish to it which is part of the beauty of the fingerprint & Baby Print jewellery range. This means each one is unique from the individually engraved letters, careful shaping & the finishing. All the charms & pendants are softer than sterling silver & do not have the very high, smooth shine that commercial sterling has.  This means they will show signs of wear & tear much more quickly than sterling silver.  All silver will tarnish over time & should be kept away from detergents. Clean with a silver polishing cloth.

Is the jewellery sent to me securely & can I have it sent to someone else?
Your jewellery is sent by secure post - either a Royal Mail 'signed for' service or courier. We can also despatch the finished jewellery direct to a gift recipient with a gift message included for no extra charge. Simply add the details at checkout.

What if I don't like the finished piece of jewellery?
As your jewellery is a completely bespoke item, there is no recourse for a refund as the item cannot be resold.  By placing an order & sending in prints you are accepting that we will create the best piece we can from the prints & engraving you have provided.  If we have made an error on the item, we will of course remake the piece at no charge.

We offer the following services for Mainland UK only:

1) For small items we can use Royal Mail's 1st class postal service and those items placed before 2pm weekdays are despatched the same day.

2) Our standard service is a 3-5 day courier service. Items ordered will be despatched from our warehouse within 5 days unless it is a special order or personalised item which can take longer. See item description for further details.

3) Next working day. Items purchased before 2pm are despatched the same day for delivery the following day via courier. This only applies to standard items and not special order items or personalised.

Special order or personalised items are not included. If you select next working day it means that once the item is ready it will be despatched the same day and not 3-5 working days after its ready or via Royal Mail.

All services available to your order will come up on checkout. 

Highlands & Islands :

We can offer a Royal Mail Parcel or 1st class service for these locations.  Items are normally despatched within 2-3 days (except personalised and special order items) and can take 5-7 working days to arrive.

Southern Ireland:

We aim to despatch items (except personalised or special order)within 2-3 working days. We use a trackable courier service on a 2-3 working day delivery time.  There is a maximum weight of 20 kilos per parcel ( one of our 3d framed kits weighs 4 kilos).  Should your parcel exceed this weight we would contact you with any additional cost before we despatch.

Europe and International Orders:

Some items are available to purchase and be despatched via Royal Mail's Airmail Service.  Please contact us prior to placing an order to determine if we can fulfil your order.  Any orders placed without paying the correct postage will be cancelled and refunded.
